A protective style should not cause you pain. A protective style should never harm your hair in any way. In the event that you feel pain you should feel free to communicate that to your stylist immediately. Your stylist should then make the necessary adjustments for optimal ease.
When I Install a protective style into a clients hair I make every effort to make my client comfortable. Communication is vital if something doesn't feel right it's important for you to express that to your stylist and even more so it is my obligation as a stylist to oblige.
